The Coasters es un grupo vocal de r&b formado por Carl Gardner, Bill Guy, Bobby Nunn, cantantes de color con una marcada influencia country y del estadounidenses. Sus temas y estilo son generalmente ambientados en el viejo oeste americano.
Durante la década de los años 50, The Coasters lograron varios éxitos. Uno de ellos fue este “Mexico”. Éste fue su primer single, editado en 1956, y también fue su primer éxito. Y, como curiosidad, te diremos que la canción aparece en la película ‘Death Proof’ de Quentin Tarantino. Eso sí, en una versión grabada a comienzos de los años 70y todavía con la participación del cantante principal, Carl Gadner. ¿Qué no haces memoria en qué parte del film aparece?
